Security experts keep reminding us that we should regularly change our passwords, that we should not reuse passwords, and that we should not come up with easily guessable passwords (if they contain upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols, they won’t be easy to guess). The fact of the matter is that it can be a bit of a bother to regularly have to come up with secure, random passwords. And this is where Kruptos Random comes in. This free, portable, easy to use application will generate secure, random passwords for you.

As mentioned above, Kruptos Random is a portable application. This means you won’t have to go through any installation process. To get started with the application you will just have to download an archive, extract the executable inside, and run it. Do so and you will be presented with the application’s dark-themed, very easy to use interface.

On the application’s interface, in the upper left hand corner, you have check boxes for the elements that will be used to create the password: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and symbols. Underneath these check boxes there’s a slider – use it to set the length of the password. And down at the bottom, you have a button for copying the generated password to the clipboard, generate a new password, and close the application.

Launch Kruptos Random and it will automatically generate a password. If all boxes are checked, the password will include upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Use the slider to change the size of the password (4 characters minimum, 32 characters max). Click the Generate button to create a new password and click the Copy to Clipboard button to copy the generated password and paste it anywhere you want. It is that simple to use Kruptos Random!
